Hoot

Last night I finally watched Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. I really wanted to watch it when it came out last fall, but never made it out to the theater. It was pretty entertaining, visually pleasing, the little owls were adorable, and the fight scenes even had Zack Snyder’s famous slow-mo shots. I damn near forgot I was watching a Zack Snyder film until those parts came up. For the record, I think his fight scenes are alright, but I seriously think he needs to cool it with the slow-mo… but that’s just me.

I’d also like to note: owls look fantastically majestic and fierce in armor!

Now I want a pet owl and I want it to wear bad ass armor. Maybe a snow owl like Harry Potter! Speaking of Harry Potter, I just bought a tie to go with my Gryffindor school girl outfit (which I will be wearing when I watch the movie at 3:30 am (because that crowd is less rowdy than the midnight show)), and my friend is nearly done knitting my scarf. 😀

Today I let The Owls of Ga’Hoole influence a bit of my outfit, which is pretty damn obvious as there is an owl plastered across my shirt, and then I just wore lots of browns and golds. I ended up switching shoes later on in the day when I went to Berkeley to run some errands, but the ones pictured here are Juicy Couture and I found them at Crossroads for $13! I normally don’t like Juicy stuff, but these were too cute to pass up, and they’re actually pretty comfortable. I prefer wedges to heels since they’re more stable.

That’s all for now, today has been exhausting!

outfit details:

  • cardigan: Target
  • shirt: H&M
  • necklace: purchased at a street faire
  • ring: hand-me-down from my mom
  • skirt: don’t recall (got it on sale at Macy’s last year)
